I have my motorcycle test on Monday morning and I don't have a chase car arranged. I tried calling a few driving schools (including Brooklyn Driving School) during the week, but they have none available. The MSS school in Williamsburg doesn't offer that service (you have to do the full course).

I know I should not have left it this late, I'm sorry, but there must some solution (it's just having a car and someone with a motorbike license after all). I'd get my scooter-driving friends (and rent a zip car), but they're working in Monday.

I love driving my Stella and I really wanna do the test! Does anyone here know of somewhere I can get a chase driver or have any other ideas?

Ride MSS does offer the chase car with driver service for $200. I used that last summer.

May I suggest you rent a car from Zipcar and offer to pay someone on the forum a fee to being the driver.
I'm sure someone who is free on Monday might be willing to help

You should probably also mention in the ad where the test is since it makes a difference if someone
needs to drive an hour in traffic just to get there:/
There are people that offer a service but there price usually also includes them providing the scooter/motorcycle.
So you should probably get something cheaper then that with your own scooter.

Considering that they are only driving there car after you and not letting you use there bike,
i don't see why you would not be able to find someone for $50.
You could always not mention a price and have them contact you and see there ask price of course.
Thought there is a risk that you don't know this person and they might show up late or not
show up at all or something considering you have no idea who they are.

If this fails maybe as a last option you can try walking to the road test and seeing if someone
else there is doing a motorcycle test and ask if they are willing to help you.
If it's a driving school they might not accept since they are not allowed to get work at the
road test area, but i suppose you can then offer to go to there office and pay and come back
or something.
But i think the chance of finding some one doing the motorcycle road test is low?
I don't know whats the benefit of canceling the test instead of trying this option as a last resort.
And don't forget since your not supposed to ride alone with a permit you would not want
the examiner to see you riding alone to the test.

I think Zipcar is a good idea as is paying for the ride, but the driver has to be a Zipcar member/user, too else all manner of havoc may be unleashed should there be an accident.

Thanks everyone! I'm touched by the offers of help, but in the end, I got a Manhattan driving school to hook me up. They put me in touch with an instructor who is going to be there at that time anyway. It's an easy $75 for her, but I'm thankful I'll be able to do it (and not have to pay $200!).

Charlybrown helped me two years ago and he was amazing. Well spent money, and a great guy at that.

He met me in sub-zero weather, literally, and at 7am or some retarded time so I could go to work in time.

Really highly recommended. He knows the drill.

Thanks! A nice woman named Gina from City Driving School in Manhattan did it for me for $75. And I passed! She was able to give some tips beforehand, including watching me do the circles and figures of eight in the Ikea car park. Obviously, a pretty easy task, but there's always the fear that you'll buckle under the pressure (and I was worried I might get dizzy!).
