If this truly is the largest antique motorcycle show and swap meet ever I'm gonna cry.

Vinny and I went to this last year and the people scattered like ants once the clouds rolled in. No rain. Vinny and I rode back to my house, and I saw him off at the traffic light near my street. Still no rain. I put the scoot in the garage, and went into the house and what do you know? It started POURING rain. I got a call 5 minutes later from a soaking wet Vinny trying to dry off nearby before continuing his trip home.

Be it the biggest or not, it was still cool for the people who remained on the grounds. Many Cushmans were there, and only one Vespa with a side car there, and it was for sale. (for way too much money too). Riding through Rhinebeck was great, Vinny got into it with some granny who insisted we were riding mopeds, not scooters.

Oh and Franky, just across the street from the FDR home is the drive in theater, just ran Star Trek and Terminator in the same night - $7 each person. Up the street is the Dairy Queen - what a great night that was.

Hey, coming up this weekend! I'll be heading up there for at least Saturday or Sunday. Friday is a possibility for the special sales, I know there's going to be some Allstate Compacts, and other cool scooters. Oh, and of course motorcycles.

go on Friday, that's when the parts sellers first get there, and you WILL find more scooters - one guy from Vermont was bringing down some scoots, and the goodies go mostly the first day.

Last year I went on a Saturday with Vinny, there was maybe a drop or two of rain that hit us on the way up, but that was enough to clear out all but the most hardcore of the vintage bike vendors. If the weather holds up, there will be plenty to see at the show - at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck.

We actually have arrangements with our Harley Topper guy to get parts already....we're not just going to buy what looks good. He happens to be from Vermont. We talked to him months ago and he told us to meet him there since we need quite a few things

I don't ride my scooter to save on gas. I ride it 'cause it's fun.

I copied the shedule of events for anyone that's interested. It's the Globe of Death exhibit that convinced me to go...

I will be taking a scenic route from my house past 3 reservoirs assuming the weather looks good on Saturday...If anyone wants to come crash on Friday and ride out early (8:00AM) Saturday morning let me know, should be a killer ride.
